The climate change agenda has become the latest way for foreign countries to loot the United States for billions of dollars. Supposedly, climate change caused by carbon emissions in developed countries is bringing about natural disasters in poorer countries, such as floods and droughts, but these have been occurring since long before the use of oil.

COP29, which was the 29th annual climate conference of the United Nations, recently wrapped up in Azerbaijan with a shocking resentment by recipients of a mammoth new $300 billion annual handout promised to them by Western nations by 2035. This far exceeds prior pledges, but the ungrateful recipients of this handout are howling in protest that it is not enough for them.

Last year then-climate czar John Kerry said we would not agree to pay climate reparations, but he’s left office and the Biden administration just told the world that we would pay billions of dollars. Playing semantics, liberals say that when these payments are voluntary then it is called a “loss and damage fund,” while if the obligation is mandatory it is called “reparations.”

If voluntary, President Trump can decline to pay them. After all, India is ranked as the worst overall polluter in the world while it also has trade barriers impeding American-made farm products, and we certainly should not pay those who refuse our goods.

The New York Times complains about the “climate change” that’s coming to the White House on this issue, as Trump has pledged to withdraw the United States from liberal foreign agreements like the Paris Agreement. “Drill, baby, drill” is Trump’s exhortation to his nominee for the Department of Interior, Gov. Doug Burgum, to open up vast federal lands to the extraction of oil.

Under Burgum’s leadership and that of his predecessors as governor of North Dakota, it has become the second-largest oil producer in the United States after Texas. This has brought prosperity, many well-paying jobs and population growth to the barren land that lacks the natural beauty and warm weather of California.

Colder-than-usual temperatures will grip the northern United States beginning on Thanksgiving and worsening into next week. The expected low temperature for the traditional NFL Thanksgiving Green Bay Packers game is a frigid 20 degrees Fahrenheit, possibly with snow.

This is bad news for the star Hawaiian quarterback of the Miami Dolphins, who is 0-7 in cold games. Despite the predictions of Al Gore and other liberals of devastating global warming that was going to ruin the world, cold weather continues to be a bigger problem than warm weather.

Recall how Biden and Harris offered only $750 for each household ravaged by Hurricane Helene, which is barely enough to pay for a month’s grocery and fuel expenses. Just as when we end up on the hook for most of the handouts promised by NATO officials, Democrats will have us paying victims of hurricanes in every country except our own.

Azerbaijan’s president, Ilham Aliyev, candidly called oil and gas a “gift from God.” China, which is the biggest carbon emitter on our planet, is still defined by the U.N. as merely a “developing” country that thereby has no obligation to reduce greenhouse gas emissions or contribute payments to poor countries.

Military emissions continue to be exempt from the reporting, despite that many bombs, fighter planes, tanks, aircraft carriers, and more than a half-million military buildings are among the biggest emitters. The environmentalists who clamor for cutbacks are silent on harm caused by the Russia-Ukraine war.

In retaliation for Biden approving the use by Ukraine of launching American missiles into Russia, Putin has responded by firing its new hypersonic “Oreshnik” missile that travels too fast to intercept. These fly at 8,000 miles per hour and can travel up to 3,400 miles, easily reaching all of Europe and even our West Coast.

A far greater risk to climate change is posed by the increasing likelihood of World War III breaking out. On Monday, speaking at an event for the European Policy Centre think tank, Dutch admiral and NATO Military Committee Chair Rob Bauer warned businesses around the world to bring their production back home so that they are not beholden to foreign governments.

Bauer declared, as quoted in the New York Post, “Businesses need to be prepared for a wartime scenario and adjust their production and distribution lines accordingly. Because while it may be the military who wins battles, it’s the economies that win wars.”

But wait, doesn’t this advice go against the globalist mantra that pushed the United States to send manufacturing jobs offshore in recent decades? If world war breaks out, China and Mexico could order a halt to their manufacturing of cellphones, automobiles and other products for American consumers, crippling our economy.

What to eat? Look to scripture, not nonsense ‘science’ https://www.wnd.com/2024/11/what-to-eat-look-to-scripture-not-nonsense-science/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=what-to-eat-look-to-scripture-not-nonsense-science https://www.wnd.com/2024/11/what-to-eat-look-to-scripture-not-nonsense-science/#respond Fri, 15 Nov 2024 23:18:44 +0000 https://www.wnd.com/?p=5283506 Using the Bible 'in any debate is crucial if you want clarity']]>

In 2018 I highlighted why it’s so naïve when the left attempts to refer to those on the right as “anti-science.” Those on the right are not anti-science, as I illustrated; they simply have a greater understanding how provisional “science” is and how concrete God’s Word is – and if the two conflict, it’s just a matter of time before the “science” is illustrated to be nonsense. God is omniscient, and His Word is never provisional – while science is always provisional as well as saturated with fraud.

Let me add three updated comments to the 2018 article from the science community itself further illustrating this.

1. There are now over 50,000 “scientific” papers retracted – 10 of those from a Nobel Prize winner.

2. On May 14, 2023, Otto von Guericke, a neuroscientist from the University of Magdeburg, Germany, as well as editor-in-chief of Restorative Neurology and Neuroscience, made the following comments during an interview on a National Public Radio broadcast: “Fake studies in academic journals may be more common than previously thought.”

Said Guericke, “So, when we’re looking at the numbers of papers that are identified with our indicators, the percentage was in 2020 at 28% of all biomedical publications. That comes to over 300,000 in the biomedical field alone. Now, if you consider that all of science is maybe roughly double that, then you can sort of roughly estimate that there may be a half million fake papers published per year. And that is a shocking number … whatever the number it is, the scope is shocking, and it is of a major concern. And in my opinion, it’s probably the biggest science scam ever.”

3. Henry Miller, M.D., and S. Stanley Young, Ph.D., wrote, “The Validity of Much Published Scientific Research Is Questionable.” Their analysis includes statements such as:

 • Much published science and the “knowledge” resulting from it is likely wrong and sends researchers chasing false leads. …
 • An aphorism called the “Einstein Effect” holds that “People find nonsense credible if they think a scientist said it.” There is a lot of nonsense masquerading as science circulating these days. …

There are a large number of issues that can be used to illustrate how dismissing scripture as your rudder to navigate through life leads you completely off course, but I will pick one that will be prominent at the end of this month for Thanksgiving – food.

This piece was inspired by a friend of mine with no science background, but a very good grasp of scripture, who commented how puzzled he was with the barrage of advice on what he should or should not be eating, all of course based upon someone’s take on “science.” The advice can come from well-meaning Ph.D.s, M.D.s, dieticians, nutritionists, athletic trainers, coaches, parents, friends, celebrities, magazines, outright quacks, etc. Basically, every knucklehead has an opinion.

He initiated the conversation due to my background, hoping I could provide some clarity. Since most of my work combating “junk science” has been in the secular arena, but still from a biblical worldview, I think he was anticipating some lengthy technical discussion. So, I asked him a simple question: You have a good grasp of scripture, you know man’s opinions and ‘science’ are unreliable – so what does scripture tell you about what you can or cannot eat?

He initially responded with, “But everyone tells me how bad red meat, eggs and dairy products are for me, so I try to avoid those food items because they are so demonized by the health experts.” I responded, and where do those health “experts” obtain all the “insight” they think they have to justify their opinions? Of course, he responded with “science.”

As stated, science is provisional and laden with poor study design, fraud and fabrication. Nutrition science in particular is dependent on epidemiological studies, which are inherently unreliable because they attempt to “link” or “associate” any particular cherry-picked variable to a disease condition or malady, when any number of other variables could actually be the cause. Also, what we should or should not eat is rarely approached from a biblical perspective, but from an evolutionary one. So, let’s see what would have happened decades ago if nutrition science had just approached this issue using scripture as is hermeneutic tool as to what we can and should eat.

On Sept. 22, 2024, two scientists, both of whom were former members of the expert committee that oversees the “science” for the U.S. Dietary Guidelines, published “The hidden costs of our dietary guidelines.” Now, their article has nothing to do with a biblical approach to anything, just a correct science opinion as to the lack of credibility behind much of the standardized dietary guidelines and the selective use of research to support some personal biases of various members of the dietary guideline committee, resulting in the “unjustified demonization of nutrient-dense foods such as eggs, meat and full-fat dairy, which together play a crucial role in a healthy diet.” They further wrote that the dietary guideline committee “ignored over 20 review papers from independent teams of scientists from around the world, which concluded that strong evidence is lacking for the continued caps on saturated fats.” This same opinion was highlighted in 2020 in The Journal of the American College of Cardiology, as well as in 2023 in the journal Current Opinion in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Obesity.

Now as a Christian who embraces scripture as absolute truth on any and all subject it covers, as well as having a significant nutrition science background, this is hardly surprising. I understand how provisional science is, on any topic, as well as how misguided it can be when “science” attempts to refute what scripture clearly teaches us as true. A plant-based herbivore diet in conjunction with common-sense lifestyle choices is all the direction you need. Yes, you are going to die from something (scripture), but it’s certainly not the egg, red meat, or dairy in your diet that’s doing it. In 2022 I illustrated this for the American Council on Science and Health where I critiqued the nonsense behind the popular National Geographic Blue Zones diet.

Using scripture as the necessary starting point in any debate is crucial if you want clarity. Disregarding scripture but embracing science as your starting point is foolish. This is why those on the left always seem so confused and misguided, often insane, because they embrace science or their own “intellectual” capacity as their source of truth.

So, your first question in any quest for direction in your life is: What does scripture say? No one has better science credentials than God. So, regardless of the subject, such as climate change, gender identity, homosexuality, abortion, etc., if you want clarity, simply open your Bible.

1 federal agency welcomes the chance to ‘clean house’ https://www.wnd.com/2024/11/1-federal-agency-welcomes-the-chance-to-clean-house/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=1-federal-agency-welcomes-the-chance-to-clean-house https://www.wnd.com/2024/11/1-federal-agency-welcomes-the-chance-to-clean-house/#respond Fri, 15 Nov 2024 21:41:37 +0000 https://www.wnd.com/?p=5283430 Musk, Ramaswamy tasked by Trump to cut down on government waste]]>

(Video screenshot)

Billionaire Elon Musk and former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy have been tasked by President-elect Donald Trump to go through the federal government and cut down on waste.

Musk, the Tesla and SpaceX executive who bought Twitter, got rid of a significant percentage of its staff and is watching it still perform in the marketplace, once estimated he could reduce federal spending by $2 trillion.

Most of the bureaucratic reaction has been fear and loathing so far, from entrenched federal payroll recipients who want no more work and no less pay.

But not at NASA.

A report at Daily Mail explains staff members there “are calling on Elon Musk to ‘clean house.'”

It’s partly because of the millions of taxpayer dollars that have gushed through the agency on the way to racist “diversity, equity and inclusion” programs.

“A former NASA employee told DailyMail.com that NASA’s DEI is ‘destroying America’s ability to compete with China in space because the Biden-Harris administration will only fund programs that feature it.'”

In the overall scheme of federal spending, NASA’s role is less than many other agencies, with a budget of some $20 billion.

But large parts of that money now are going, according to spending reports during the Biden-Harris administration, “to universities and consulting firms to support ‘environmental justice’ and initiatives that ’embrace greater diversity and inclusive practices.'”

For instance, LMI Consulting got $2 million in 2023 to “incorporate and deeply engrain diversity, inclusion, equity and accessibility in the culture and business.”

Booz\ Allen Hamilton took $3 million for NASA’s “office of diversity and equal opportunity,” and another $7 million last month went for “minority-serving institutions.”

The report said that’s even as there are budget shortfalls for the agency’s main mission.

Software engineer Kyle Sorensen told he hopes Musk will “clean house.”

Its Jet Propulsion Laboratory laid off 325 employees from its workforce recently, on top of 535 let go months back.

NASA also gave a private organization $900,000 for “increasing diversity and inclusion in the leadership of completed space missions by establishing an ad hoc committee to recommend actions to increase diversity, inclusion, equity and accessibility in the leadership of space mission proposals.”

“DailyMail.com uncovered more DEI grants worth missions that had not published in the spending report,” the report said.

Another former employee told the publication, “NASA JPL will lay off almost a thousand workers this year to make budget space for a plethora of ridiculous word salad DEI and environmental programs which contribute nothing to actual space exploration. DEI is a full employment program for people with otherwise useless degrees.”

The president of Azerbaijan, host country of this year’s U.N. climate change conference, defended fossil fuels while slamming the media and climate “hypocrisy” in a Tuesday speech at the event.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev described fossil fuels as a “gift of God,” slammed the “Western fake news” media for criticizing his country’s emissions and stated that countries like his “should not be blamed” for developing their reserves of natural resources and bringing them to the market. The U.N. conference — also known as COP29 — has attracted tens of thousands of attendees to the Azerbaijani capital Baku to discuss initiatives like so-called “climate finance” for developing countries, standards for carbon credit markets and emissions reduction commitments.

Aliyev rattled off statistics about Azerbaijan’s relatively small contributions to global oil and gas production before criticizing the media, politicians and nonprofits for maligning his country for capitalizing on its natural resources.

“I have to bring these figures to the attention of our audience, because right after Azerbaijan was elected as the host country of COP29, we became a target of a coordinated, well-orchestrated campaign of slander and blackmail,” said Aliyev. “Western fake news media and so-called independent NGOs, as if were competing in spreading disinformation and false information about our country. To accuse us that we have oil is the same like to accuse us that we have more than 250 sunny days a year in Baku.”

Aliyev emphasized his view that there are many criteria by which to judge a country, but a nation’s resources and their sale are not one of them.

“I said it several months ago, and now all those who want, I mean international media, to attack me, just quote me that I said that this is a gift of God. And I want to repeat it today here at this audience, it’s a gift of God,” Aliyev said. “Every natural resource, whether it’s oil, gas, wind, sun, gold, silver, copper, all that are natural resources and countries should not be blamed for having them and should not be blamed for bringing these resources to the market because the market needs them.”

Aliyev attacked those who have criticized his country as a petro-state, though Azerbaijan’s economy is “anchored” by oil and gas, which accounted for nearly half of the nation’s GDP and 92.5% of export revenue in 2022, according to the U.S. International Trade Administration.

“Unfortunately, double standards, a habit to lecture other countries and political hypocrisy became a kind of modus operandi for some politicians, state-controlled NGOs and fake news media in some Western countries,” said Aliyev.

COP29 kicked off on Monday, and the Taliban even managed to send a delegation to the conference. The Biden administration, meanwhile, is still looking to be productive at the summit despite the looming return of President-elect Donald Trump, who has pledged to roll back climate initiatives and spending as well as withdraw from the U.N.’s Paris Climate Accords, according to The New York Times.

Spain’s flooding: Media blame ‘climate change,’ predictably https://www.wnd.com/2024/11/spains-flooding-media-blame-climate-change-predictably/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=spains-flooding-media-blame-climate-change-predictably https://www.wnd.com/2024/11/spains-flooding-media-blame-climate-change-predictably/#respond Thu, 07 Nov 2024 23:57:38 +0000 https://www.wnd.com/?p=5279762 'Historical context is essential to understanding severe weather events']]>

In a recent article, the BBC linked Spain’s latest storm to climate change, suggesting that rising global temperatures intensified the floods. The article’s original title (now changed), “Scientists Sure Warming World Made Spain’s Storm More Intense,” paints a vivid picture of climate-driven catastrophe, but this interpretation raises eyebrows. It’s a familiar formula by now: Link every severe weather event to climate change. In this case, though, history and science don’t support the narrative.

To understand the Spanish floods of 2024, one must start with an important truth: This is not Spain’s first encounter with severe autumnal flooding. Mediterranean storms, especially a seasonal phenomenon known as the “gota fría” (cold drop), have historically delivered torrential rains to the region. This annual weather pattern occurs when cool, high-altitude air moves down over the warmer Mediterranean waters, creating the perfect setup for intense rains. It’s been a fixture of Spanish autumns for centuries and often unleashes heavy rainfall in short bursts, overwhelming the local terrain.

Consider the devastating 1957 Valencia flood, one of Spain’s most severe natural disasters. On Oct. 14 of that year, heavy rains caused the Turia River to overflow, inundating the city with catastrophic levels of water. Valencia’s streets were flooded by a raging river that unleashed up to 6,000 cubic meters of water per second, with reports documenting water levels two to five meters high in some areas. The destruction was vast: Roads, bridges and neighborhoods were wiped out. The death toll remains unclear, but at least 81 people are known to have perished, and thousands were displaced.

Interestingly, the 1957 flood and others like it didn’t need the BBC’s modern-day climate narrative to make sense. Instead, Spain responded pragmatically, enacting the Plan Sur, which diverted the Turia River away from Valencia’s city center to prevent future floods. This approach saved the region from potential disasters like this year’s floods, illustrating how local solutions – rather than sweeping climate assumptions – address specific regional risks effectively.

The BBC’s article leans on the idea that climate change is intensifying storms by increasing atmospheric moisture. It even suggests a 7 percent increase in rainfall per degree of warming, implying that storms are worsening globally as the climate warms. However, this claim doesn’t align well with data from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), a key source on climate trends. In the IPCC’s Sixth Assessment Report (AR6), which covers various regions and climate impacts, southern Europe’s rainfall trends are identified with “low confidence,” even under flawed high-emission climate model scenarios like RCP8.5.

In Chapter 12 of AR6, Table 12.12 assesses the confidence level of precipitation trends in different regions, including southern Europe. The IPCC remains cautious in attributing increased rainfall or flood intensity in this area to climate change, with its experts classifying confidence in such claims as low. This lack of certainty contradicts the BBC’s suggestion that climate change is causing Spain’s floods to worsen. While some areas may indeed experience more severe weather due to global warming, the IPCC’s data indicate this effect is not reliably observable in Spain’s Mediterranean climate.

In fact, the IPCC report’s findings suggest that linking every weather event in Spain to climate change is, at best, speculative. The relationship between warmer global temperatures and specific regional weather patterns, such as those seen in Spain, is complicated and often clouded by natural variability. Given this complexity, it’s crucial for media coverage to approach these topics with caution, making clear distinctions between established scientific consensus and uncertain theories.

Floods in Spain predate concerns about climate change by centuries. The 1957 disaster, for instance, motivated significant public works to prevent future floods, including the Plan Sur, which redirected the Turia River and helped Valencia avoid severe flooding in subsequent decades. This local solution addressed a real risk based on the recurring threat of floods – not on projections about global warming.

If the BBC had considered this history, it might have suggested similar practical measures rather than jumping to tired and predictable climate alarmism.

The BBC’s article ultimately illustrates a trend where every extreme weather event is attributed to climate change, often without regard for local history or established scientific caution. This approach not only skews public understanding of climate dynamics but also undermines practical solutions that could directly address regional vulnerabilities. In areas like southern Europe, where climate patterns have been fairly stable over centuries, historical context is essential to understanding severe weather events.

The BBC’s coverage of Spain’s recent flooding exemplifies a growing pattern in which media outlets link nearly every extreme weather event to climate change without adequate context or supporting evidence. This style of reporting ignores regional climate realities and historical weather patterns in favor of sweeping narratives that oversimplifies complex science.

By framing Spain’s floods as a new climate-induced anomaly, the BBC has missed an opportunity to educate readers on the long-standing weather cycles and infrastructure challenges that actually shape these events. This failure in journalism not only misleads the public but also sidesteps the real questions about local resilience and the targeted measures needed to address recurring seasonal risks. When media reduces nuanced events to convenient climate alarmist headlines, it does a disservice to informed public discourse and the trust placed in responsible reporting.

Stephen Hawking, Roger Penrose, Robert Oppenheimer, Karl Schwarzschild, John Wheeler, Albert Einstein, Leonard Susskind – these renowned scientists all, in one way or another, helped black holes transition from the theoretical realm to the real world. Today we can say with evidential backing that these gravitational behemoths, so dense that not even light can escape their pull, likely number in the quintillions. But just over 240 years ago, their very existence was considered strange and unacceptable. Well before many of the world’s aforementioned scientific heroes were inescapably entranced by black holes, an unheralded thinker reasoned them into reality from contemporary scientific knowledge.

John Michell, an English natural philosopher, delved into astronomy, geology, optics, and gravitation in the mid-18th century, uncovering precious insights that earned him election in 1760 to the famed Royal Society, still today the world’s leading scientific academy. Yet despite his many contributions, Michell is little known in the annals of scientific history, partly because he did little to popularize himself or his ideas. English historian of scientist E. T. Whittaker noted that despite Michell being “the only natural philosopher of distinction who lived and taught at Cambridge” for many years after the death of Isaac Newton, his “researches seem to have attracted little or no attention among his collegiate contemporaries and successors, who silently acquiesced when his discoveries were attributed to others, and allowed his name to perish entirely from Cambridge tradition.”

One of those “researches” originated in 1783, born from Michell’s realization that particles of light theorized by Newton emerging from the surface of a star would have their speed reduced by the star’s gravitational pull, just like any object on Earth flung skyward. He then took this thought experiment to the extreme, reasoning that a massive-enough star could have gravity so strong that particles of light could not escape, thus rendering the star invisible to an outside observer.

Michell was a talented constructor of telescopes. At times, he doubtlessly gazed through his creations at the dark gaps between the twinkling stars above, wondering if he might be scanning across any of his hypothesized stellar ghosts. He figured that with more powerful telescopes, astronomers from Earth might be able to infer the presence of his massive, dark stars by observing luminous stars orbiting around spots seemingly with nothing there. Centuries later, this is one method astronomers utilize to ‘see’ black holes.

Michell’s conception of black holes wouldn’t receive serious consideration from the broader scientific community until physicists began probing the ramifications of Einstein’s general relativity in the early 20th century. The term “black hole” didn’t even arise until 1967.

(LIVE SCIENCE) — The “once-in-a-lifetime” comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS looks like it has grown a physics-defying second tail after reaching its closest point to Earth for more than 80,000 years, new photos reveal. However, in reality, the extra limb is a visual illusion that occurs thanks to the position of our planet relative to the naked-eye object.

C/2023 A3, more commonly known as Tsuchinshan-ATLAS, is an unusually bright comet that likely originates from the Oort Cloud — a reservoir of icy objects in the outer reaches of the solar system. It was first discovered in early 2023 barreling between Saturn and Jupiter as it headed toward the inner planets.

Follow-up observations revealed that the comet likely orbits the sun once every 80,660 years — and suggested that it may have been disintegrating, which later turned out to be inaccurate.

Major shifts have been taking place in the race to commercialize nuclear fusion, but one high-school senior has shaken the fusion world by building a nuclear fusion reactor as a high-school science project.

Cesare Mencarini, an Italian studying in the United Kingdom, taught himself to code and how to work with electrical systems. He searched YouTube and the Internet and built a custom-made reactor that was controlled and hosted from a Raspberry Pi system. His reactor achieved plasma, the fourth state of matter, a crucial step in the fusion process, by effectively using high voltage to heat atoms to the required temperatures.

His work has earned him a college scholarship, where he will be working on larger reactors. Mencarini explains that “I had to adapt the design to fit in with the budget and my aim is to encourage other young people to develop ideas and think about how we can improve our world and be innovative.”

Mencarini’s success should be an inspiration to the thousands of scientists affiliated with the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), where, in the wake of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the CERN Council in June 2022 decided to end cooperation with Russia, affecting 500 scientists affiliated with Russian institutions.

While about 100 of the Russian-affiliated scientists have found other sponsorship and will continue working with CERN, the Russian government withdrew US$46.8 million from the financing of the upgrading of CERN’s large hadron collider and will no longer supply 4.6% of the LHC’s experimental budget.

On another front, CERN last November signed an agreement with members of EUROfusion, a European consortium of fusion research laboratories, to facilitate collaboration on development of innovative technologies for future colliders and nuclear fusion reactors. EUROfusion’s laboratories are creating a technical design of a fusion demonstration power plant (DEMO) to succeed ITER (the International Fusion Reactor).

ITER, one may recall, was launched in 1985 by a consortium including China, India, Japan, Korea, Russia, the United States, and the European Union and supported by the European Atomic Energy Community (which itself was created by the Euratom Treaty in 1957). Its mission was to bring fusion to a point where a demonstration fusion reactor could be designed.

Construction of the ITER tokamak began in 2010, and in May 200 the 1,250-tonne cryostat base was installed at the 42-hectare site. The latest news from ITER is a plan to build a more complete machine than was initially planned, with achievement of full magnetic energy by 2036 and the start of the deuterium-tritium operation phase by 2039. Expect new information at the ITER Council meeting this November.

While the European efforts are slowing down, the hunt for nuclear fusion is escalating in the United States, and notably in Wisconsin.

At the National Ignition Facility in Livermore, California, a significant advancement in fusion ignition was achieved in December 2022 using 192 lasers concentrated on a minuscule gold cylinder consisting of a diamond capsule loaded with deuterium and tritium. At one moment, hydrogen atoms integrated into helium, emitting energy of 3.15Mj that exceeded the 2.05Mj contribution from the lasers.

The success of this experiment symbolized a model change in the nuclear energy segment. It also prompted renewed curiosity as well as financing in fusion energy, which promises practically unlimited power with no safety hazards with little if any waste issues. The challenge remains to sustain the fragile balance of conditions essential to fusion.

On another front, MIT researchers just published results of a study that addressed the problem of building tokamats that can withstand the incredibly hot plasma. Senior researcher Ju Li described the method for drawing away problematic helium atoms that can wreak havoc on the tokamak’s inner walls by dispersing iron silicate into the bulk metal.

A July survey by the Fusion Industry Association reported that among 45 private fusion companies worldwide, 25 were headquartered in the United States. Perhaps the biggest news on the U.S. fusion front is emerging from three of these firms that were spun out of the University of Wisconsin at Madison – Realta Fusion, Type One Energy, and SHINE Technologies.

On July 15, Realta Fusion scientist Elliot Claveau reported that his team had generated a beam of superheated plasma for the first time at the Wisconsin HTS Axisymmetric Mirror (WHAM) project being conducted at the University of Wisconsin Plasma Physics Laboratory in Stoughton.

WHAM was created in 2020 as a partnership between UW-Madison, MIT, and the company Commonwealth Fusion Systems, who had received $10 million in grants from the U.S. Department of Energy, as well as funding support from UW-Madison. WHAM is now operating as a public-private partnership between UW-Madison and Realta Fusion, which was spun out of the university.

Just one week later, scientists at SHINE Technologies in Janesville showcased their FLARE™, billed as the world’s most powerful continuous fusion neutron system at the IEEE Nuclear & Space Radiation Effects Conference and at the Technology of Fusion Energy Meeting (TOFE). FLARE™, an acronym for Fusion Linear Accelerator for Radiation Effects, produced 50 trillion nuclear fusion neutrons per second.

FLARE™ can complete tests in hours that heretofore took weeks. This allows for shorter development cycles and faster iteration in developing radiation-hardened components. As a result, the Department of Defense will be able to much more quickly determine how much radiation our defense systems and withstand before they are disrupted or destroyed.

The third ring came on July 30, when Wisconsin-born Type One Energy, which recently relocated to Oak Ridge, Tennessee, announced it had raised over $82 million in seed funding for a fusion prototype based on work of scientists at its Madison office. Bill Gates’ Breakthrough Energy Ventures led the extension, with Australia-based Foxglove Ventures and New Zealand-based GD1 also contributing.

Type One’s reactor is a stellarator, whose shape has been called a cronut – a circle that is warped and bulging. The shape is defined by magnets that exert the specially shaped field that confines the superheated plasma necessary for fusion reactions. The stellarator requires a tremendous amount of computing power to fine-tune the design to make it work. Type One was spun out of the University of Wisconsin, which is also operating a stellarator.

CEO Christofer Mowry says the next step is finalizing the core reactor design, then building a prototype reactor called Infinity One as well as designing a pilot reactor by 2030. According to Mowry, “When Infinity One operates and we test it, it’s actually verifying the key design aspects of the pilot plant.”

Wisconsin’s presence in the nuclear fusion industry began with the founding in 1971 of the Fusion Technology Institute at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Realta’s Furlong says, “There’s this huge potential to marry Wisconsin’s manufacturing capabilities with its research capabilities and create this new industry which could just generate a huge economic engine for the state.”

Furlong added, “What Detroit was for the global automobile industry in the 1950s, what Houston is today in the global oil and gas sector … I can see Wisconsin being the global hub for the fusion industry in the 21st Century.” And SHINE CEO Greg Piefer says, “I think the thing we all agree on … is that an advanced society will make its energy from fusion.”

Like thousands of others, Jessica Sheffield, a former United States Navy lieutenant commander, was forcibly separated from the service in 2022 for refusing the COVID jab.

When Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin mandated the COVID-19 shot in August 2021, Sheffield was concerned not just with the experimental vaccine’s safety, but with the legality of such an order. After careful consideration, she decided to take her oath to support and defend the U.S. Constitution seriously, telling WorldNetDaily: “I was absolutely going to do the right thing no matter what, and in this situation, it meant that I was not going to follow this unlawful order.”

“I was vocal to my commander, chief of staff, and the command doc in private,” she said, “about not taking the ‘vaccine,’ because it was experimental, thereby, it was also unlawful. The command doc, in a one-on-one meeting with me, wouldn’t even put his words behind the order, claiming it was ‘coming from higher up,’ which was especially alarming,” she said.

“Although I avoided the subject in casual office conversation for professional reasons,” she told WND, “many co-workers would seek me out and agree with me in private, and lament that although they also saw the order as unlawful, they felt they had to go through with it to keep their job.”

Sheffield brought to the attention of Navy Vice Admiral Robert Gaucher the reality that many members of the command – all holding security clearances – were “lying out of fear,” which she considered a violation of their oath. For this, she was called “disgruntled” and accused of “stirring up trouble.”

Through the experience, she learned a lot about some of the Navy’s current leadership, she told WND: “They basically showed me that they’re willing to lie for money, or worse, they don’t see a forced experimental injection that was actively injuring sailors as unlawful. They put their own selfish needs ahead of standing up for what was right.”

The most concerning issue, Sheffield added, was that “\many in leadership seemed to truly believe the order was lawful, and still do.”

After meeting with a Navy chaplain to consider requesting a religious accommodation, she learned, “You had to agree that the order was lawful to get the exemption.” For Sheffield, “that defeated the purpose of getting an exemption, considering it was an unlawful, experimental injection that was being offered in the first place.”

As she continued to refuse the shot, she recalled, “there was a lot of lying on behalf of my command, efforts designed to trick me into resigning.” Every document placed in front of her, calling for her resignation, she refused to sign before editing the text to point out that she was being forcibly separated from the Navy. “They really did not want to be the ones to force me out, they wanted me to quit, and I think it’s because they knew this wasn’t right,” she said.

So rather than being separated on May 25, 2022, for disobeying an unlawful order, Sheffield fought to have her DD-214 discharge papers state “COVID Injection Refusal” as the reason for her separation. “The official separation code still shows ‘Unacceptable Behavior,’ which I protested, but remain somewhat satisfied I was at least able to get the note including the COVID-injection refusal,” she told WND.

After the January 2023 rescission of the shot mandate, Sheffield submitted a request to the Board for Correction of Naval Records, or BCNR, on March 5, 2023 to be reinstated. Her reinstatement request also asked for the Department of Defense to admit to the unlawfulness of the 2021 mandate, acknowledge that retaliatory actions were taken against her, and cleanse any blemishes from her performance record. Unfortunately, her reinstatement would never occur.

After waiting a year, Sheffield said the BCNR altered her official record to state that she had voluntarily resigned, which was untrue. “They had also deleted all COVID-related retaliatory documents from my official record, and claimed that is what I had asked them to do,” she said.

“I contacted my congressman and, through him, demanded they stop deleting evidence and return my record to its unaltered state since they refused to reinstate me and acknowledge the unlawfulness of the order.”

Confessing she was “terrified” to discover a letter the Navy wrote to U.S. Rep. Bill Posey, R-Fla., Sheffield said “they lied about the nature of my initial BCNR request, claiming I had only asked them to delete COVID-related detrimental FITREPS (fitness reports), and called my assertions of their behavior ‘disingenuous.'” She fears “they’re quietly doing the same for everyone who was kicked out for COVID jab refusal, under the guise of ‘cleansing’ records of bad behavior.”

Sheffield submitted a second request to the Board for Correction of Naval Records on May 5 of this year: “I asked that my record remain untouched as evidence for an eventual reconciliation of this injustice,” she explained. “My re-submitted BCNR states that if they refuse to admit to the unlawfulness of the COVID injection order and restore my commission, my record must remain untampered until things can be reconciled.”

“The jab requirement was nothing less than a purge of all those willing to uphold their oath and protect their sailors and others from the unlawful order, and the proof is now bare for all to see,” Sheffield told WND. “After almost a year of deliberation, I now have 15 pages on official letterhead of the BCNR doubling down on the assertion that the jab order was lawful and that I was right to be removed.” That, in addition to altering her paperwork, told her “they were trying to cover up the entire experience, as if it had never happened.”

“With this ongoing BCNR trouble, it feels like the DOD as we used to know it is effectively gone,” Sheffield lamented. For her, it’s “just a mercenary force now, one whose loyalty lies with keeping their paycheck, rather than upholding the sacred oath undertaken for the protection of the United States of America and its founding Constitution.”

Like thousands of other service members and veterans who desire the same, she questions whether there will there ever be accountability for the wrongs committed against her and the countless sailors who were failed by their leaders, with the implementation and enforcement of the COVID-19 shot and its many negative repercussions.

Nearly 38,000 have signed a petition to support 231 service members and veterans who signed on to the Declaration of Military Accountability to “hold accountable military leaders who failed to follow the law when their leadership and moral courage was most desperately needed.” What’s more, they have pledged “to recall from retirement the military leaders who broke the law and will convene courts-martial for the crimes they committed.”

The climate change religion is causing mental torture https://www.wnd.com/2024/09/the-climate-change-religion-is-causing-mental-torture/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=the-climate-change-religion-is-causing-mental-torture https://www.wnd.com/2024/09/the-climate-change-religion-is-causing-mental-torture/#respond Fri, 20 Sep 2024 22:44:37 +0000 https://www.wnd.com/?p=5264989 'The message is one of hopelessness. No matter what you do, the planet is doomed']]>

A couple weeks ago, the Los Angeles Times published an essay by Rosanna Xia entitled “To fix climate anxiety (and also climate change), we first have to fix individualism.” She expressed her deep anxiety and outright grief over climate change to the point where she was “questioning whether I could ever justify bringing my own children into this world” and that she “can’t help but feel like we’re just counting down the days to our own extinction.”

Ms. Xia isn’t the only one experiencing eco-anxiety and questioning parenthood. Jade S. Sasser, an associate professor in the Department of Gender & Sexuality Studies at UC Riverside, conducts research “exploring the relationships between reproductive justice, women’s health, and climate change.” She, too, is plagued by the morality of having children, and hosts the podcast “Climate Anxiety and the Kid Question.”

I can’t fathom the depths of despair these women must feel to pen such words. As therapy, Xia recommends “climate empathy.” She writes, “Acknowledging the emotional toll on people beyond yourself can be an opportunity to listen and support one another. Embracing our feelings – and then finding others who also want to turn their fear into action – can be the missing spark to much-needed social and environmental healing.”

This is what concerns me about the progressive obsession with climate change: It is cultivating mental illness. Deliberately, intentionally, purposely, knowingly. Everywhere you turn, you are bombarded with concerns about climate change. Whether the weather is sunny, windy, hot, cold, dry, wet, blizzard-y, hurricane-y, or somewhere in between, “climate change” is the default reason for the season.

The younger generations are fed a constant and never-ending diet of propaganda about climate change, from kindergarten through graduate school. Humans – especially the wasteful humans living in Western nations – are solely to blame for anything and everything weather-related, everything from mudslides in Africa to monsoons in Southeast Asia. Oh sure, articles are out there telling us what kinds of “small acts in your daily life … can have a big impact on the planet,” but such advice is usually followed by despair at how ineffective it is in the grand scheme of things. Can going paperless save the planet? Of course not. This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t go paperless, but you must also recognize the planet’s climate will continue to change – and somehow, somehow, it’s all your fault. You exist, therefore you’re to blame.

From sociopolitical commentary to romance writing! Patrice Lewis branches into the world of Amish inspirational fiction. These clean romances are wholesome enough for Grandma to read. Check out Patrice’s available titles.

Now multiply this message a thousand-fold, and you’ll start to understand the lesson young people are internalizing. Despite your green lifestyle, there’s never any hope things will be OK. Rather, the message is one of hopelessness. No matter what you do, the planet is doomed. You – yes, YOU – are personally at fault for mudslides in Africa and monsoons in Southeast Asia.

To raise impressionable children to believe the problem is so massive that there is no hope is more than bad; it’s evil. It’s a form of mental torture: convincing young people they’re all going to die of something so far beyond their control that there is nothing they can do about it. Sure, you can convince them to live a zero-waste lifestyle and eat vegan, but is that enough to change the planet? Of course not. Ergo, the despair. If that’s not mental torture, I don’t know what is.

The point of this column isn’t whether or not climate change is man-made. The point is how far progressives are willing to go to send young people spiraling into an abyss of desolation about something over which they have no individual control beyond their lifestyle choices. The left is mentally and emotionally battering people about massive global issues far beyond their control, and then telling them they’re going to die unless it’s fixed in the next few years. This mental abuse starts in kindergarten (or earlier) and continues through post-graduate studies, resulting in entire generations in legitimate emotional agony.

MedicalPress reports, “On a global scale, worldwide Google searches for ‘climate anxiety’ or ‘eco-anxiety’ increased by 4,590% from 2018 to 2023, according to a report by Time.” It doesn’t matter that climate scare stories keep turning out to be false; the goal is to scare everyone into a constant state of hysteria.

To address the issues the climate activists have caused, eco-counselors and even eco-chaplains are offering eco-therapy to address eco-anxiety. Hey, modern problems need modern solutions, right?

But none of this addresses the obvious to these grief-stricken people: that eco-grief is a mental prison of their own making. Instead, they demand societal diktats in the form of stripping people of their individual goals and forcing them to join the collective. No more individual homes, or cars, or appliances, or food choices. That’s bad for the planet!

The ultimate goal, of course, is to get people to capitulate to the radical green agenda. Since you, yes YOU, can’t save the planet on your own, it’s up to the big-hearted folks at the WEF and other international organizations to do it for you. Who cares if it means billions have to die under their watch for their goals to be accomplished? It’s for the good of the planet! Quit complaining.

And if these global elites happen to get even wealthier and more powerful during the process of saving the planet … well, that was just an unintended consequence. Quit complaining.

The left has elevated climate change to its own religion and uses every possible rhetorical and legislative trick to get you to comply with their beliefs. In the end, though, “persuasion” comes down to the point of a gun. Believe or die.

Ironically, I’m fascinated by green living and have spent decades living by many of the tenets of the green agenda simply because I enjoy the challenge. What I’m opposed to with all my heart, however, is compulsive standards that will destroy Western civilization, enslave its citizens, and hand global power and wealth to a relative few. Remember, the issue is never the issue.

If progressives should fret about anything, fret about that.

A Boeing spacecraft successfully returned to Earth on Saturday, without the pilots on board.

The Boeing Starliner has been plagued with technical problems since it was launched into space with astronauts Sunita Williams and Barry Wilmore more than three months ago, essentially stranding the pilots in space. NASA and Boeing have been deliberating options as to how to get Williams and Wilmore home and decided to keep them in space for the time being rather than fly them home on the troubled return vessel, which successfully touched down in New Mexico on Saturday.

It would have been a risk to try and bring Williams and Wilmore back to Earth on the return vessel, NASA said.

“Even though it was necessary to return the spacecraft uncrewed, NASA and Boeing learned an incredible amount about Starliner in the most extreme environment possible,” Ken Bowersox, an official at NASA, said in a statement on Saturday.

Two executives from Boeing were expected to appear at a NASA press conference on Saturday, but neither were there, according to The Washington Post. Boeing didn’t explain why they weren’t present.

The original Boeing Starliner flight — launched in June — was meant to assess how the spacecraft could operate with crewmembers onboard, according to the Post. But several of the craft’s thrusters abruptly shut down as it approached the International Space Station (ISS), and it suffered from other problems such as helium leaks.

Both Williams and Wilmore have since been stuck on the ISS since then. The two will remain in space until February of next year, when Elon Musk’s Space X company will fly a spacecraft to the ISS to pick the two up and bring them back to Earth, according to the Post.

Boeing — which has been plagued with controversies over technical problems in several of its aircraft — seemed to disagree with NASA’s assessment that the pilots couldn’t be brought home on Saturday, apparently feeling as though it would have been a safe flight, the Post reported.

“[There was] some tension in the room,” a NASA executive said during a press briefing this week, according to the outlet. “I wouldn’t characterize it as heated. … I wouldn’t say it was a yelling, screaming kind of meeting. It was a tense technical discussion.”

A team of researchers that included a number of medical experts as well as individuals with creditable science backgrounds has uncovered what is believed to be an “off switch” that could be used by those who were given the COVID-19 mRNA treatments, and now face that possibility of “turbo cancers, heart failure, strokes, blood clots, and damaged immune systems,” according to a new report.

It is Slay News that revealed the “historic discovery” that now “offers hope to the billions of people around the world who have been injected with the ‘vaccines.’”

The report cites a preprint study called, “Strategic Deactivation of mRNA COVID-19 Vaccines: New Applications for RIBOTACs and siRNA Therapy.”

The promoters of the experimental treatment originally said the “vaccine” injection would stay in a person’s arm but tests show it spreads, which has prompted health experts to express concern about the safety.

The report confirmed the “spike protein triggered by the mRNA from the shots has been linked to multiple deadly diseases and sudden death.”

The study, led by renowned American cardiologist Dr. Peter McCullough, uncovered a novel approach using “small interfering messenger RNA (siRNA) and ribonuclease targeting chimeras (RIBOTACs) to bind and deactivate the mRNA from these vaccines.”

The report said evidence is that that process allows a body to clear out mRNA from the injections.

McCullough said he already uses products like “Patisiran” and “Inclisiran” in his practice.

The process is that they “bind up messenger RNA to inactivate it.”

That, the report said, hits at the mRNA and its potentially lethal spike protein call and reduces the overall toxicity.

”The urgency for an ‘off switch’ becomes even more pressing since Moderna’s mRNA vaccines for respiratory syncytial virus and influenza were recently approved,” the report said.

The threat is, McCullough said, “Without any way to turn off the messenger RNA, we think every single messenger RNA shot, because it’s been made synthetic and resistant to human breakdown, is going to make people progressively sick.”

Slay News noted McCullough previously raised an alarm after finding data showing that COVID mRNA shots caused an increase in brain clots by 112,000%.

It’s confirmed: COVID-19 pandemic was preventable https://www.wnd.com/2024/08/its-confirmed-covid-19-pandemic-was-preventable/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=its-confirmed-covid-19-pandemic-was-preventable https://www.wnd.com/2024/08/its-confirmed-covid-19-pandemic-was-preventable/#respond Fri, 23 Aug 2024 18:19:28 +0000 https://www.wnd.com/?p=5251525 Conclusion documented in report that reveals eye-popping $18 trillion cost to the U.S.]]>

(Unsplash)

When the Heritage Foundation released its comprehensive report on the origins of the Covid-19 pandemic, headlines tended to focus on the cost to the U.S. That’s not surprising: At an eye-popping $18 trillion, it’s almost 10 times the projected 2024 budget deficit.
Arguably, however, the Commission’s most infuriating conclusion was this: The global pandemic was “totally preventable,” in the words of Commissioner Dr. Robert Redfield, an experienced virologist who headed the CDC during the outbreak.
Had the Chinese government been more transparent and cooperative at the outset of the pandemic, millions of lives and trillions of dollars could have been spared. The pandemic’s “proximal origin,” the Commission found, was the Chinese government’s “aggressive opposition to honesty, transparency, and accountability” along with its “systemic cover up.”

The Cover-Up
The Commission—a blue-ribbon team of experts led by former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe and supported by data scientists, economists, and lawyers—concluded that the SARS-CoV-2 virus began circulating months before Beijing warned the world, likely in August-September 2019. The Chinese government then not only withheld key details, it engaged in an elaborate and deadly coverup.
Dr. Jamie Metzl—one of the Commission’s Democrats who served at the National Security Council, U.S. Senate, and State Department—condemned Beijing for having “destroyed samples, hidden records, imprisoned Chinese citizen journalists, gagged Chinese scientists, blocked any meaningful international investigations, and cynically sandbagged the World Health Organization.”
Ratcliffe described China’s behavior during this period as “frankly inexcusable.”
Added Metzl: “There can be, in our view, little doubt that China’s government is primarily responsible for the COVID-19 pandemic. But for the unique pathologies of the Chinese state, there very likely would have been no pandemic at all.”

The Cost
Worldwide, the COVID-19 pandemic is considered one of the seven deadliest plagues in human history, with excess deaths topping 28 million, according to some estimates. The World Bank has characterized the economic upheaval caused by the pandemic as “the largest global economic crisis in more than a century,” with low-income countries hit the hardest.
The Commission’s assessment that the pandemic cost the U.S. alone $18 trillion includes $8.6 trillion in “excess deaths,” $1.8 trillion in income lost, $6 trillion in chronic conditions like “long COVID,” $1.1 trillion in mental health costs, and $400 million in education losses.

The Origin
While the origin of the pandemic wasn’t the focus of the Commission, notably all nine Commissioners concluded, without dissent, that the pandemic “very likely stemmed from a research-related incident in Wuhan.”
Indeed, evidence continues to emerge further strengthening the “lab leak” theory and casting greater doubt on the “natural spillover” theory. The Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) was at the time conducting dangerous gain of function experiments to make coronaviruses more transmissible to humans, and it was doing so in alarmingly unsafe conditions.
The WIV experienced an unspecified “incident” in 2019, when several lab workers fell sick, the Chinese military abruptly assumed control of the lab, the lab mysteriously deleted its online database of over 10,000 bat virus samples at 2:00am, and ordered an expensive new air incinerator. A Chinese military scientist then produced a vaccine with logic-defying speed before suddenly going missing and being scrubbed from government records.
In recent months, new details have emerged about a 2018 grant proposal that sought funding to manipulate coronaviruses at the WIV in very specific ways—ways that exactly match the highly unusual features of the SARS-CoV-2 virus that have never been seen in nature.
At the event unveiling the Heritage report, Dr. Redfield contended SARS-CoV-2 shows “clear signs of engineering” and its origin “had nothing to do with” a natural spillover event at a Wuhan animal market. The full Commission report concludes that despite four years of extensive hypothesis testing, today “there is no evidentiary basis” for the theory of natural spillover. The handful of early pandemic academic papers advancing the natural spillover theory have since been hollowed out by fatal challenges to their underlying methods and conclusions.
Rather than a viral leap from animal to humans, Dr. Redfield contended that the pandemic was “a direct consequence of scientific arrogance, with the scientists that were intentionally teaching this virus how to infect humans never recognizing something would ever go wrong. And, in fact, unfortunately this virus did escape.”

Preventing Another Pandemic
To avoid a future pandemic and hold the Chinese government accountable, the Commission report concluded with several practical recommendations for the U.S. government:
 • Establish a bipartisan national COVID commission to conduct “a review of China’s negligence and cover-up as well as an evaluation of domestic policies that were implemented” in response to the pandemic;
 • Create a bipartisan reparations or compensation task force to cover claims against the Chinese government;
 • Facilitate the filing of civil claims against China to allow civilians harmed by COVID to receive compensation by amending the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act;
 • Decouple U.S. government and commercial supply chains from Chinese state-backed companies;
 • Audit all U.S. government funding for biomedical research and related research activities in China;
 • Impose economic sanctions on Chinese officials and entities who were complicit in or supported the “distortion and concealment” of information related to the COVID pandemic.
The COVID-19 pandemic was almost certainly the deadliest and costliest event of the 21st century. Beijing’s ability to escape virtually any accountability—and the global media’s relative disinterest in the pandemic’s origins, cost, and China’s culpability—are equal parts confounding and infuriating.
“China’s response to SARS1 20 years ago was abysmal,” Dr. Metzl argued at the Heritage event. “China’s response to SARS2, 20 years later despite all these international processes, was even worse. And the reason…is there was no accountability for all the obfuscation in the first case. With 28 million people dead as a result of COVID-19 and tens of trillions of dollars in damages it simply unacceptable, and frankly unimaginable, that every stone should not be overturned examining what went wrong.”

(TMZ) – Two astronauts stranded in space for more than 60 days may have to keep orbiting the Earth until early 2025 … because their Boeing spacecraft appears unable to bring them home. NASA is now saying Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams may need to be rescued from the International Space Station by a spacecraft from a rival company … Elon Musk’s SpaceX.

The pair took a Boeing Starline spacecraft to the ISS in June but the maiden voyage has been a disaster … with helium leaks and thruster failures preventing them from taking the spaceship home.

(LIVE NOW FOX) – Walgreens is planning to close a significant share of U.S. stores as it deals with weak consumer spending, according to the CEO of its parent company.

CEO Tim Wentworth of Walgreens Boots Alliance, which owns both pharmacy chains Walgreens in the U.S. and Boots in the U.K., told the Wall Street Journal this week that the company is planning to close a substantial number of poorly performing U.S. stores.

A final number of store closures has not yet been decided, Wentworth added, but said the company is reviewing about a quarter of its stores that aren’t profitable and could shutter a “meaningful percent” of those over the next few years, according to the outlet.

(100 PERCENT FED UP) – Five U.S. states are reportedly suing Pfizer, alleging the pharmaceutical company made ‘misleading claims’ about the safety of its experimental COVID-19 shot.

“Five states – Texas, Utah, Kansas, Mississippi, and Louisiana – suing Pfizer for knowing and concealing the vaccine causing myocarditis, pericarditis, failed pregnancies and deaths. That’s 10% of U.S. states. The tide is turning,” Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said.

Earlier this month, Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach, a Republican, announced a lawsuit against the COVID-19 jab manufacturer. “As I mentioned before, it is part of a multi-state effort in which more suits may follow depending on Pfizer’s reaction,” Kobach said during a press conference.

Supreme Court rejects Purdue Pharma’s $6 billion opioid settlement https://www.wnd.com/2024/06/supreme-court-rejects-purdue-pharmas-6-billion-opioid-settlement/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=supreme-court-rejects-purdue-pharmas-6-billion-opioid-settlement https://www.wnd.com/2024/06/supreme-court-rejects-purdue-pharmas-6-billion-opioid-settlement/#respond Thu, 27 Jun 2024 18:58:26 +0000 https://www.wnd.com/2024/06/supreme-court-rejects-purdue-pharmas-6-billion-opioid-settlement/ Said settlement is an abuse of bankruptcy protections meant for debtors in financial distress]]>

(WASHINGTON EXAMINER) – The Supreme Court on Thursday rejected Purdue Pharma’s proposed $6 billion bankruptcy settlement. A 5-4 majority opinion by Justice Neil Gorsuch sided with the Biden administration‘s argument that Purdue’s settlement is an abuse of bankruptcy protections meant for debtors in financial distress, not for the owners of the multibillion-dollar opioid company, the Sackler family, who withdrew $11 billion from Purdue before agreeing to contribute $6 billion to its opioid settlement.

The Sackler family’s plan to settle lawsuits and transform Purdue Pharma into a nonprofit organization dedicated to addiction treatment was initially approved by a bankruptcy judge in 2011. The U.S. Trustee Program, a Justice Department watchdog, intervened and claimed settlement terms required unanimous consent by the roughly 60,000 people who have filed personal injury claims, despite the plan’s approval by over 95% of the voting claimants.

After years of litigation, the Supreme Court in August temporarily barred the pharmaceutical from moving forward with bankruptcy proceedings and agreed to hear Biden administration’s challenge to the plan on the merits.

A previously censored paper from The Lancet has now undergone peer review and is available online.

The study, titled “A Systematic Review of Autopsy Findings in Deaths After COVID-19 Vaccination,” analyzed 325 autopsy cases and found that a staggering 73.9% of deaths were either directly due to or significantly contributed to by the COVID-19 vaccination.

The paper’s lead author, Dr. Nicolas Hulscher, faced significant opposition in bringing these findings to light. After initially being downloaded over 100,000 times, The Lancet removed the paper within 24 hours, according to Dr. William Makis.

According to The Daily Sceptic, the reason given at the time was, “This preprint has been removed by Preprints with the Lancet because the study’s conclusions are not supported by the study methodology.”

The news outlet added:

“Without further detail from the Preprints with the Lancet staff who removed the paper it is hard to know what substance the claim that the conclusions are not supported by the methodology really has. A number of the authors of the paper are at the top of their fields so it is hard to imagine that the methodology of their review was really so poor that it warranted removal at initial screening rather than being subject to full critical appraisal. It smacks instead of raw censorship of a paper that failed to toe the official line. Keep in mind that the CDC has not yet acknowledged a single death being caused by the Covid mRNA vaccines. Autopsy evidence demonstrating otherwise is clearly not what the U.S. public health establishment wants to hear.”

In a post on X Friday, Dr. William Makis shared the exciting news.

“BREAKING NEWS: Our LANCET CENSORED Paper is now peer reviewed and available online!” Makis wrote on X.

“Incredible perseverence [sic] by first author Nicolas Hulscher who didn’t give up after LANCET pulled our paper within 24 hours after 100,000s of downloads for no legitimate reason. Big pharma put the squeeze on The Lancet but has failed to stop us.”

“Our paper was delayed by one year, and those actions of CENSORSHIP and CANCELLATION led to many deaths that could have been prevented. This paper could be a game changer,” Makis added.

According to the study:

Methods

We searched PubMed and ScienceDirect for all published autopsy and necropsy reports relating to COVID-19 vaccination up until May 18th, 2023. All autopsy and necropsy studies that included COVID-19 vaccination as an antecedent exposure were included.

Because the state of knowledge has advanced since the time of the original publications, three physicians independently reviewed each case and adjudicated whether or not COVID-19 vaccination was the direct cause or contributed significantly to death.

Results

We initially identified 678 studies and, after screening for our inclusion criteria, included 44 papers that contained 325 autopsy cases and one necropsy case. The mean age of death was 70.4 years.

The most implicated organ system among cases was the cardiovascular (49%), followed by hematological (17%), respiratory (11%), and multiple organ systems (7%). Three or more organ systems were affected in 21 cases.

The mean time from vaccination to death was 14.3 days. Most deaths occurred within a week from last vaccine administration.

A total of 240 deaths (73.9%) were independently adjudicated as directly due to or significantly contributed to by COVID-19 vaccination, of which the primary causes of death include sudden cardiac death (35%), pulmonary embolism (12.5%), myocardial infarction (12%), VITT (7.9%), myocarditis (7.1%), multisystem inflammatory syndrome (4.6%), and cerebral hemorrhage (3.8%).

According to the VAERS COVID Adverse Event Reports that track all of the COVID-reported vaccine deaths and complications, 37,647 people have died from the COVID-19 vaccine – as of May 31, 2024.

These are the vaccine-related deaths that were reported.

And still, doctors are pushing the vaccine on their patients! The money must be very, very good!

Vigilant Fox shared this clip by Jimmy Dore in this explosive report:

Another COVID “conspiracy theory” becomes reality as a bombshell study CENSORED by The Lancet has now been peer-reviewed.

What were they trying to hide, you ask?

Lots and lots of vaccine deaths.

After analyzing 325 COVID vaccine autopsy cases, the now peer-reviewed study found that “a total of 240 deaths, which is 73.9%, were independently adjudicated as DIRECTLY DUE to or significantly contributed to by COVID-19 vaccination.”
